Russell Romainiw

Russell Romaniw, 77, of Hartford, CT, passed away on July 10, 2021, at his home. He graduated from Bulkeley High School, Hartford, CT – Class of 1962.

He was born in Buchach, Ukraine, on March 1, 1943, son of the late Jakym and Ksenia Romaniw, and is preceded in death by his sister Anna Melnyk and brother Stephen Romaniw. Russell is survived by his sister Marie Swyntuch, brother Peter Romaniw, many nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.

Russell was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a lifelong UConn basketball fan.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:30 am Monday, July 26, 2021, directly at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Cemetery 1458 New London Turnpike in Glastonbury, CT.
